Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
What is the QKOIL system?
QKOIL is an overhead wireless charging platform that delivers power to electric vehicles (EVs), autonomous vehicles, autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), warehouse and logistics robots, and other electric mobility systems. It uses inductive wireless technology to charge from above—no cables, no plugs, and no floor-based pads.
How does QKOIL work?
QKOIL uses a ceiling-mounted or gantry-based transmitter coil to deliver energy wirelessly to a receiver coil located on the top of the vehicle or robot. When the device enters the charging zone, QKOIL detects its position, aligns power delivery, and begins charging automatically.
What are the advantages of overhead wireless charging?
Hands-free automation: No need for manual plugging or alignment—vehicles simply park and begin charging.
Ideal for autonomous systems: Perfect for driverless fleets, autonomous taxis, and warehouse robots.
Space efficiency: Overhead design frees up floor space, making it ideal for fulfillment centers, parking garages, warehouses, and commercial depots.
Less wear and tear: No mechanical connectors means fewer maintenance issues and longer system life.
Sequential or priority-based charging: Charge multiple vehicles in sequence or based on need, unlike plug-in stations that only handle one at a time.
Is QKOIL safe?
Yes. QKOIL is designed with multiple safety protocols including:
Automatic shutoff when no receiver is detected
Intelligent alignment to prevent misfires
Low electromagnetic leakage
No exposed cables or metal contacts that could pose a shock risk
This makes it especially well-suited for high-traffic environments like warehouses and public charging hubs.
Who can benefit from QKOIL?
QKOIL serves a wide range of users:
EV owners and fleets
Autonomous vehicle operators (e.g., Waymo, Zoox, etc.)
Warehouse and logistics providers using AMRs or AGVs
Smart building and facility managers looking to future-proof EV infrastructure
What makes QKOIL different from floor- or ground-based charging systems?
Unlike floor-based charging pads that require precise parking alignment and often only charge one vehicle at a time, QKOIL’s overhead system offers several key advantages:
Easier alignment: Ideal for autonomous vehicles and mobile robots that can position themselves under the transmitter with greater flexibility.
Hands-free operation: No need for manual connection or intervention.
Supports multiple devices: Enables sequential or priority-based charging for fleets—charging more units with less infrastructure.
Clear floor space: By moving the charging hardware overhead, QKOIL frees up valuable floor space—a premium resource in warehouse and manufacturing environments. This improves safety, traffic flow, and operational efficiency on the ground.
Reduced wear and tear: With no cables or contact points, there’s less maintenance and a longer service life compared to plug-in or floor pad systems.
