EV Charging Solutions, LLC Files New U.S. Patent Application Covering Expanded Capabilities of the QKOIL™ Overhead Inductive Wireless Charging System
QKOIL charging system - ideal for logistics applications
Albuquerque, NM – October 20, 2025 – EV Charging Solutions, LLC announced today the filing of a new U.S. patent application expanding protection for its pioneering QKOIL™ overhead inductive wireless charging technology. The newly filed U.S. Patent Application No. 19/362,433 covers innovative overhead charging devices, systems, and methods for charging a wide range of electrified mobility systems.
The application encompasses automatic charging of electric vehicles such as electric cars, electric trucks, autonomous vehicles, and “robotaxis,” as well as autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), automated guided vehicles (AGVs), warehouse and logistics robots, cleaning robots, and other autonomous mobile systems. The filing also extends the QKOIL™ system’s potential applications to agricultural environments, including electric tractors, harvesters, and other battery-powered farm machinery, and to military domains, such as unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs), autonomous supply robots, electric reconnaissance carriers, and electric all-terrain vehicles (ATVs).
This latest patent application builds on EV Charging Solutions’ growing intellectual property portfolio surrounding the QKOIL™ overhead inductive wireless charging platform. The QKOIL™ system features a gantry charging architecture that supports automated positioning and deployment of a charge transmitting coil from an overhead support structure. The transmitting coil can be selectively lowered toward a corresponding receiving coil located on or within a target electric mobility system, enabling automatic, contactless charging without the need for human intervention, manual cable handling, or precise vehicle alignment.
Even when vehicles or mobile robots are improperly positioned within a charging space, the QKOIL™ overhead gantry system automatically detects, directs, and aligns the transmitting coil with respect to the vehicle’s receiving coil using machine vision, distance sensors, and real-time feedback control, ensuring accurate positioning and efficient charging performance. Once charging is complete, the transmitting coil is automatically retracted and repositioned to serve the next vehicle or device in sequence.
Because the QKOIL™ system operates without human intervention, it is ideally suited for autonomous vehicle charging hubs, such as charging depots and fleet staging facilities, where vehicles can automatically position themselves beneath an available charging station and initiate charging operations autonomously. The system also offers significant advantages in warehouse and industrial settings, including fulfillment centers, logistics operations, and manufacturing plants, where it can efficiently charge logistics robots, freight handlers, forklifts, and other autonomous transporters with minimal downtime.
Importantly, because the QKOIL™ charging system is deployed entirely overhead, it eliminates the need to occupy or modify valuable floor space. This design avoids costly infrastructure work such as cutting or embedding charging pads into the floor, freeing warehouse layouts from permanent installation constraints and maintaining full operational flexibility for evolving automation systems.
The QKOIL™ platform is designed to deliver safe, efficient, and scalable wireless charging across multiple vehicle types and operating environments, from urban mobility hubs and logistics centers to agricultural fields and defense installations.
With this filing, we continue to advance our mission of redefining electric mobility infrastructure through intelligent, contactless charging solutions. The QKOIL™ platform is adaptable, reliable, and designed for the next generation of autonomous and electrified systems across industries.
